Terms & Conditions 

Boarding Fees and Payment:

1. We charge per day/part day. Fees are charged for the day you drop off and the day you collect, regardless of time.

2. We charge for all days as booked. If your dog is collected prior to the end of the booked period, no reduction in cost is made.

3. All invoices must be settled prior to your dog being returned to you.

4. Any extra costs, additions, or amendments to your booking must be settled prior to your dog being returned to you.

 Cancellation Policy:

1. A minimum of 7 days’ notice, prior to the commencement of boarding, must be given; otherwise, you will be liable for the full amount of the boarding period booked.

2. The only exception to this is Government Enforced Lockdown. In this instance, we will release any bookings as soon as you make contact with our booking office. Health and Veterinary Care:

1. Every care and attention will be given to your dog(s), but they are boarded entirely at your own risk.

2. Should a Veterinary Surgeon need to be called on your behalf, you must consent to pay for all Veterinary costs plus the transport fee.

3. We do not accept any responsibility for ill health or injury during (or immediately following) your pet's stay. We follow strict hygiene and good health procedures but cannot prevent unseen health issues occasionally being transmitted.

4. We will provide bedding for the comfort of your dog during their stay. However, we reserve the right to remove the bedding if it is chewed or destroyed by the dog. This measure is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet, as well as to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities. Bedding may be withdrawn or not used at all, subject to owners’ consent. See Admission Form.

5. We will give the best of care to your dog but should any health problems (including kennel cough) develop during or following their stay, we accept no responsibility. All Boarding and Vet fees are payable by the owner.

6. Should your dog need to be transported to the Vet during its stay, a charge of £30 per trip applies.

7. I agree to the Company obtaining essential Veterinary care for my dog(s), at any time, should they need it. I agree to pay ALL Veterinary fees.

8. I understand that should my dog contract an illness or injury during (or immediately following) the boarding period, the Company is not liable.

9. Should it not be practical to use my named Vet, either because of distance or surgery hours, I give permission for Carl Thompson BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS, MyHomePetVet to be used and for my contact details to be passed on.

10. The Company will inform me, or my named local emergency contact, of any health concerns or essential treatment as soon as it is noticed. Vaccinations and Health Requirements:

1. It is the sole responsibility of the owners to ensure their dog’s vaccinations are up to date and they should be administered at least 3 weeks prior to arrival.

2. We highly recommend, but do not insist, on having the kennel cough vaccine. Vaccine to be given at least 3 weeks prior to arrival. Proof to be shown upon arrival. 3. We cannot accept dogs into our care that are coughing or obviously unwell on arrival or are not deemed fit for boarding by your Vet.

4. We will administer any medication your Vet has prescribed; however, we are not a Veterinary Practice. We undertake this on your behalf, at your own risk.

Grooming and Minor Health Procedures:

1. I consent to the staff of Dave Shaw Dog Services Ltd performing minor health-related procedures necessary for my dog’s comfort and wellbeing. This includes, but is not limited to, wiping eyes, cleaning ears, removing debris from the coat, and applying non prescription topical products (e.g., eye wipes, ear cleansers, barrier cream). These actions will be undertaken with care and discretion and are not a substitute for veterinary treatment.

2. I consent to my dog receiving an adequate grooming routine appropriate to their coat type and comfort during their stay. This may include daily brushing, detangling, coat wiping, and light trimming (e.g., around the eyes or sanitary areas) if needed for hygiene, or to prevent matting. These procedures will not replace professional grooming and will be carried out with care to prevent discomfort or distress. Attention will be paid to coat, teeth, ears, eyes and nails.

3. We reserve the right to treat any parasitic infestations that may be detected. This includes, but is not limited to, the application of appropriate treatments and measures to ensure the health and safety of all parties involved. Our approach will be in accordance with the latest medical guidelines and best practices to effectively manage and eliminate parasites.

Uncollected Dogs:

1. If an owner does not collect their dog on the stated departure date and there has been no communication concerning the dog, every effort will be made to contact the owner using the information on the dog’s Admission Form.

2. If all efforts fail and no contact has been made or received within 8 days, the dog will become our property and can, as such, be rehomed. All costs incurred in this process will be the owner’s responsibility and will be serviced to the owner. Liability:

1. We do not accept any liability for loss or damage to any bedding, leads, toys, etc. that you may leave with your dog. This is done entirely at your own risk.

2. We do not accept any liability for damage or theft of any cars parked on our Car Park. This is done entirely at your own risk.

3. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or injury of your dog on our Car Park or other associated, surrounding areas when you are dropping off or collecting your dog. We expect your dog to always be on a lead and under control and that a safe distance from other people and dogs will be maintained.

4. We do not accept any responsibility for any accidents or injuries that may occur on our Car Park or other associated, surrounding areas when you are dropping off or collecting your dog, attending training sessions, viewing our kennels and facilities, or any other visit on site.

5. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under this agreement if such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, or other labour disturbances, government actions, or any other event that could not have been reasonably foreseen or prevented. In the event of such circumstances, we will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible and will take all reasonable steps to mitigate the impact on our services.

6. Children should never be left unattended and cannot enter our kennel blocks under any circumstances.

Data Protection:

1. We need to hold data relating to your dog’s stay. This is solely for the purpose of boarding your dog and will only be used for that purpose. It will only be shared to ensure the best health and welfare of the animals in our care and even then, only with the relevant Veterinary Practices. Admission forms and consents should be filled out in full.

2. We reserve the right to take photographs and videos of your dog during their stay. These may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to, our website, social media, and marketing materials. By leaving your dog with us, you consent to the use of these images. If you have any concerns or wish to opt-out, please inform us in writing prior to your dog's stay.

Shared Kennels:

1. If I have booked shared kennels for my dogs, then I consent to them sharing a kennel and agree that this has been done so on the understanding that there are no problems. 2. Should a problem of any nature arise between the dogs, I give permission to put the dogs in separate kennels and understand that I will need to pay the extra cost incurred.
